I love to work with horse and owner teams, helping both find ways to one another that feel deeply satisfying, joyful and safe. Whether one or each of you is impacted by fear or confidence issues, past experiences that stand in the way of connection and joy, if you are stuck and puzzled,  new to a skill, or simply new to horses altogether, I would love to meet with you, observe, translate what I see and suggest a roadmap going forward. The process is always unique to each team and very creative. It is not linear as there are many ways to grow and learn. I attempt to support you both in a way that feels supportive to you. I come to your home and work with you in your environment as you are.

We will meet in private one-on-one zoom sessions, walk through video reviews or meet online live with your and your horse. I suggest the first session be a 30 minute get to know each other and compatibility check Zoom call.

If you don't have time or skill to see your horse through a rehabilitative or training process I gladly will come to your horse and work with him/her. The initial meeting will require a first Private Coaching Session in person or online (with a follow up in person session with your horse) to learn about what is leading you to seek professional help and support. This is also serving as a compatibility check. Once you are satisfied that what I can offer to support both you and your horse is what you were looking for, we will meet in person for me to meet your horse and get an idea about the living situation, the tack and training tools and any history I should know that we have not touched on previously. I come to your home and work with your horse  in his/her environment.

 If you operate an equine facilitated wellness program, a therapeutic riding program, a lesson barn or you have one or several private horses that are not thriving or show regularly signs of stress and/or engage in soothing behaviors like wind sucking or cribbing. this service is for you. I will come to you and meet your horse and perform a thorough wellness assessment. It is my belief that horses on their own time need friends they get along with, 24/7 access to good quality hay and fresh water, as well as freedom to move. Often it is the small changes that make the big difference to the horse. Those changes are easier to create than you think. There are many other reasons why a horse may not thrive or self soothe. Thorough listening and observations are key. I come to your home and work with your horse  in his/her environment. Whether you have already made the decision or are still thinking about it, you are contemplating buying a horse. If you are new to horses I will gladly assist to illuminate all that is required and all that needs to be considered so you can go into it with eyes wide open. A new horse needs to be no less compatible with you than a partner or best friend. Horses are as unique as humans and the more you know what your own needs, skills and capabilities are, the better. I love assisting in finding the horse that is just right for you. This includes online consultation, online horse searches, in person horse visits, conformation and character assessment of the horse, as well as history, details and video reviews. Saddle and Tack fit is extremely important to me. Pain and discomfort caused by ill fitting tack in particular the saddle is unacceptable in a world that prioritizes Kinship with Horses.

I learned saddle fitting from Franco Cloete of Cloete Custom Saddles and use his comprehensive saddle fit kit to determine if your saddle fits or not. By manufacturing the negative to the template we are recording and producing a real size grid image of your horses back. By inserting them to the underside of your saddle you will be able to see for yourself how well your English, Endurance or Western Saddle fits. I come to your home and measure your horse  in his/her environment.

Living far away from easily accessible and good barefoot hoof care providers has led me to learn and study barefoot trimming. I have trimmed my own horses, trimmed clients horses, assisted in trimming and rehabilitating horses with laminitis  for the past 18 years. I have studied Pete Ramey extensively, have taken seminars with Jamie Jackson certified instructors, and learned directly from barefoot trimmers in Washington, Arizona and British Columbia. Whenever I get a chance I strive to learn more. I do not offer trimming services to the public but I enjoy teaching  owners to trim their own horses and help horses rehabilitate after laminitis or founder. On a case by case basis I also teach young or anxious horses to  stand confidently and  quietly for trimming.
